Watson, Louisiana is one of the warm welcoming communities that make up Livingston Parish. The first post office was established in Watson in 1894 but the land was settled pre-Civil war era. Early settlers were drawn to the winding waters of the Amite River and the beautiful live oak trees that graced the land with their beauty. Churches and schools were quickly established, placing an emphasis on education, spirituality and families that continues today in the community of Watson. The 1,080 residents are served by top ranked schools, including three public elementary schools, Live Oak Middle and Live Oak High school.
