Port Allen, Louisiana is located in West Baton Rouge Parish and sits between Interstate 10 and Highway 190 on the west bank of the Mississippi River. With Baton Rouge located a short drive across the bridge, the city prides itself as “city living with classic river charm”. Incorporated in 1916, Port Allen has grown to over 5,000 residents in 2.6 square miles. Port Allen is also home to multiple festivals and celebrations throughout the year including SugarFest, the Port Allen Bonfires on the River, West Baton Rouge Parish Fair and the Lagniappe Dulcimer Fete Festival. Port Allen has two public elementary schools, a middle school and high school that are part of the West Baton Rouge Parish school board, as well as one private school, Holy Family Elementary.
