Livingston Parish, Louisiana was created in 1832 and encompasses over 700 square miles. The large parish has traditionally been a rural parish comprising of quaint small towns and villages. With the quickly growing cities of Denham Springs, Walker and the towns of Livingston and Springfield, Livingston Parish is one of Louisiana’s fastest growing parishes. It also includes the villages of French Settlement and Port Vincent and the communities of Watson, Satsuma and Holden. Even with the convenient location to the adjacent East Baton Rouge Parish and Interstate 12, Livingston Parish has maintained its small town feel. The Amite River boards the parish to the west and provides great water recreation. With Lake Maurepas to the south, the Tickfaw River flowing through and the Tickfaw State Park the fishing is second to none. The rural land also provides for excellent hunting of all kinds.
